To Keene Airport Planning Committee: Smart Power & Energy Commission has assessed the needs for energy resources at the proposed airport. Our findings indicate that a 200-megawatt facility needs to be built to accommodate a 30% increase in energy demand. Construction of this new facility will cost approximately 126 million dollars. We have planned to construct this facility so that excess power feeds directly into the local power grid, and the power unused by the airport can be distributed to local homes or businesses. The proposed facility will use two advanced technology combustion turbines in combined-cycle with a single steam turbine. The combustion turbines will be fueled by natural gas. Smart Power & Energy Commission is committed to building and operating power plants that are fueled by natural gas, which is a clean-burning fossil fuel. Combined-cycle natural gas fired energy centers are environmentally friendly sources of energy. With its advanced emissions control system and configuration, the facility will be 40% more fuel efficient and produce 90% less emissions than the typical power plants operating today. Smart Power & Energy Commission will manage all aspects of project development including engineering and design, construction, and operations. The project will interconnect to the local grid via existing transmission lines, which are located on the western edge of the proposed airport site. It will be fueled by a major gas line that runs along Highway 200. Construction will take 9 to 12 months to complete and should commence as soon as Keene Airport Plans are approved. The construction phase of the project will employ as many as 300 workers. Upon completion, 20 to 25 skilled power professionals will be employed full time at the new power facility. Please contact us as soon as the airport plans are finalized. Sincerely, |
