Can the present system expedite the flow of aircraft along the ground?

If the present system makes use of the visualization tools (SMA, ASDE) available plus the enhanced communications tools being developed, ground traffic movement could be better monitored and expedited. This could translate into less time spent by passengers in aircraft that are waiting for takeoff in long taxi lines or waiting on an unoccupied gate for deplaning.
