Would the development of more efficient ground transportation systems solve the problem?
Without a doubt, increasing the public's use of mass transportation (light
rail, commuter trains, buses) will ease the congestion on the roadways. Increasing
bus and train routes between popular destinations that are less than 900 miles
apart would make it more convenient for travelers to use ground transportation
instead of air transportation for shorter trips. Also, incorporating airports
into daily transportation stops for lightrail, commuter trains and buses will
make airports more easily accessible for the air travelers.
